Charger of the Month February 2009:MSP Dodge Charger Unit # 492

Massachusetts State Police (MSP) is an organization with an incredibly rich history and well known for their patrol vehicles in French and electric blue assuring the Commonwealth's public and highway safety. The Charger of this month is the MSP 2006 Dodge Charger R/T unit # 492, located at the MSP police barracks in Springfield, MA. Of all the Charger's I have seen this probably is the most famous one (YouTube), except NASCAR.

This Massachusetts Winter has been extremely icy. Naturally, like every year, I keep my Dodge Charger Daytona R/T "Go ManGo" off the salty and pot hole riddled streets as much as possible. The Charger stays in the garage! However, it seems not cranking, and driving it for a while takes its toll on the the battery when it is this cold. I had to use the jumper cables to get the car to start a couple of times this winter already. The battery was completely dead.

Luckily, the Charger's battery is located in the trunk, so jump starting it is not a big problem. I just pull my Dodge Ram truck close to the garage, open the trunk, and hook it up. It takes a few minutes of idling the truck, but after a few tries, the Charger, so far, has always come back to live. Of course, the clock needs to be reset to the correct time, the radio stations need to be reprogrammed, and the compass needs to recalibrate itself (it always throws a SW-Cal, or NE-Cal code, depending on which direction I first take off). I'll be glad when spring returns - hopefully soon.

Charger of the Month January 2009:Littleton Police Chargers - WOW!!!!!

The Littleton, MA police department proudly boasts three 2008 Dodge Police Chargers, with more 2009's on the way (all of them HEMI powered cars). Littleton will be going to all Chargers over the next few years, phasing out their Crown Vics.

The Chargers are simple, but mean looking with their full push bars, Whelen light bars, and custom decals. They do regular enforcement on I-495, Rte.2, Rte.110, Rte.119. There is reflective blue striping around the "big" police and the blue in the main stripe is also reflective along with all the white lettering. They look awesome at night. But speeders beware! Don't let them spot YOU first.

Brand New 2008 Dodge Chargers for The Littleton Police Department, Massachusetts
